Additional Driver
All additional drivers must meet all rental requirements. Additional drivers can be added at any rental location and at any time during the rental. An additional driver fee of 990 ISK (incl. VAT) per day applies up to a maximum charge of 6,930 ISK (incl. VAT).
After Hours Service
The Keflavik International Airport location and the BSI Bus Terminal Reykjavik location offer out of hours returns, outside of normal operating hours. When returning after hours, customers must return the car to the designated parking lot and leave the key in either a key drop box or a key vending machine located at the rental station. The customer is responsible for the car until an agent from the company collects the keys and inspects the vehicle.
Age Requirements
The minimum age requirement for all vehicles is 25. Renters between the age of 20 and 24 may rent the categories Mini, Economy, Compact, Intermediate, Standard and Intermediate Wagon only. A young driver fee of 2000 ISK per day (incl. VAT) applies for all renters between the age of 20 and 24.
Cross Border Policy
CROSS BORDER TRAVEL IS NOT PERMITTED.
Damage Waiver
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) reduces the liability of the renter in the event of damage to the bodywork of the vehicle. If CDW is not included in the reservation, the renter has liability up to the full market value of the vehicle. If not included in the booking, CDW is an optional coverage available for purchase.
If included in the reservation or purchased, the maximum excess chargeable per incident is 500,000 ISK for all car classes, provided all rental terms and conditions are adhered to.
Before purchasing CDW it is advised to determine, if personal coverage is adequate to cover damage, theft, loss of revenue, administration fees, diminishment of value, and any towing, storage or impound fees. If CDW is declined, the renter will be required to pay these charges and seek compensation through their carrier of personal coverage. CDW is not insurance.
Damage Waiver Exclusions/Voids
Collision Damage Waiver does not cover: Rims, wheel covers, windshield, tires, interior damage, roof damage, undercarriage damage, damages caused by sand, gravel, ash, pumice, or other kinds of earth material, damage from riots or civil unrest, damage from dangerous substances, damage caused by the use of the wrong fuel or any failure to take all reasonable measures to look after the vehicle keys or any other device which unlocks the vehicle and/or enables the vehicle to be started.
Collision Damage Waiver will be voided if damage is caused by: failure to secure the vehicle keys, failure to lock the vehicle, unauthorized repairs on the vehicle, use by an unauthorized driver, use by an unlicensed driver, use for hire and reward, use of vehicle for any illegal purpose or deliberately causing injury or damage to property, racing, pacemaking, teaching someone to drive, use whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs, use of the vehicle outside of the country without our permission, overloaded with more passengers than seatbelts, towing, use off road, transporting dangerous or noxious substances, willful or wanton negligence.
One Way Drop Policy
All rentals where the vehicle is not returned to the same location as it was collected from will be subject to a one-way fee. This one-way fee varies based on car category, location, and pick-up date. The exact amount of the one-way fee will be displayed during the reservation process when entering the dates, the desired route, and car category.
Excess Reduction plus Tire and Windshield Protection
Excess Reduction plus Tires and Windshield Protection (ERTWP) is an optional coverage available for selection by the renter. ERTWP is only available to purchase if Collison Damage Waiver (CDW) is selected or included in the reservation. The purchase of ERTWP reduces the customer’s liability to 150,000 ISK in cases of damage to the bodywork of the rental vehicle and 0 ISK in cases of damage to the tires or windshield of the rental vehicle.
With regards to the tires and windshield, ERTWP only covers the cost of the replacement tires or windshield, not the costs associated with carrying out the repair (i.e. vehicle towing or labor costs of the repairs).

Exclusive Policy
Cost of rental includes time and distance, unlimited kilometers, theft protection, personal accident insurance, third party liability, airport fee and all taxes.
Refueling Service
Refueling Service
All vehicles are provided with a full tank of fuel. Customers can choose from the following options on how to pay for fuel:
Option 1 – Prepay Fuel
This option allows the renter to pay for the tank of fuel at the time of rental and return the tank empty. No refunds will be issued for unused fuel.
Option 2 – We Refill
This option allows the renter to pay at the end of the rental for fuel used but not replaced. The fuel price charged by the branch will be in line with local fuel prices. A refueling fee will be charged on top of the fuel.
Option 3 – You Refill
This option allows the renter to return the vehicle with a full tank of fuel as received to avoid extra fuel charges.
Loyalty Availability
Enterprise Plus customers can earn points on qualifying rentals at this location. Redemption of points is not available at this location.
Emerald Club customers can earn credits on qualifying rentals at this location. Redemption of free days is not available at this location. Note: Emerald Club members can earn credits at National and Enterprise brand locations.
A reservation must be booked in advance, and must have the member number attached, in order to earn credit/points.
Personal Accident Insurance
Personal Accident Insurance - PAI is mandatory in Iceland and is included in the rate. PAI compensates the rental driver in cases of bodily injury resulting from a traffic accident when operating the rental vehicle.
Forms of Payment
All major credit cards, issued by either Mastercard, VISA or American Express are accepted. All cards presented must be in the renter's name. Diners Club, Debit cards, prepaid cards, cash and checks are not accepted.
Roadside Protection
Roadside Assistance Protection (RAP) is an optional coverage available for selection by the renter. RAP allows the customer to waive financial responsibility for call out/recovery fees associated with roadside incidents such as a flat battery (for non-electric vehicles), tire punctures or lock outs.
Roadside Protection does not cover misfuelling, replacement vehicle keys, replacement tire costs, running out of fuel, running out of charge (for electric vehicles) or self inflicted incidents. You must adhere to all rental terms and conditions to receive the benefit of Roadside Assistance Protection.
In cases of rental vehicle mechanical failure through no fault of the renter, roadside assistance will be provided at no cost to all renters. This service will include a tow and a replacement vehicle.
Renter Requirements
All drivers must present a fully valid and unexpired driving license. All drivers must have held their license for at least one year at the time of rental. Lead drivers must also present an additional form of photo ID (e.g. passport) along with a valid credit card in their name upon collection of the vehicle. If the driving license is non-European an International Driving Permit is also required. Renters are advised to check whether local authorities require foreign drivers to present an International Driving Permit to avoid the risk of potential fines.
Please note that we reserve the right to request additional ID or conduct further identification checks if needed. This may include an identity check with external partners who may check details supplied against databases to which they have access.
Arrival Directions
Once you clear customs and enter the arrivals hall you will see a sign for Car Rental Shuttle Service and our logo (Enterprise Rent-A-Car). The shuttle stop is located within a 1 minute walk from the terminal building. This shuttle will take you to the Car Rental center where Enterprise Rent a Car will be your fourth stop on the route.
Supplemental Liability Protection
General Third Party Liability insurance is mandatory and included with all rental rates. Liability insurance covers third party property damage and bodily injury caused by the insured. Sum insured in each and every loss is 500,000,000.00 ISK.
Theft Protection
Iceland is one of the world’s safes places and vehicle theft is very rare. Theft Protection (TP) is a mandatory coverage in Iceland and included in all rates. The inclusion of TP waives the customer’s liability in cases of theft or attempted theft of the vehicle. To receive the benefits of TP, the renter must acquire a police report in all instances of theft, attempted theft or vandalism of the rental vehicle.
Theft Protection will be voided if the renter fails to secure the vehicle keys, lock the vehicle, roll up the windows when leaving the vehicle. Theft Protection will also be voided if the renter fails to adhere to all other rental terms and conditions. TP is not insurance.
Tire and Windshield Protection
Tires and Windshield Protection (TWP) is an optional protection available for selection by the renter. TWP provides cover to the tires, windshield of the rental vehicle only. If TWP is purchased, the excess amount is 0 ISK for damages to the tires or windshield. TWP only covers the cost of the replacement tires or windshield, not the costs associated with carrying out the repair (i.e. vehicle towing or labor costs of the repairs). If TWP is not purchased, the customer will be held liable for the full value of damages to the tires or windshield.
